I often hear small business owners say they’ve considered PR, but only as an option for the future.
How can a business know when it’s time to invest in public relations?
Here are three situations when your business could benefit from PR:
1. You struggle with name recognition. Name recognition is key to growing your business. While it's easy to believe your customers tell their friends about your great service, the reality is they likely only mention you when asked. In order for your business to grow, your ideal customers need to know who you are and what you do. PR can help you get your name out.
2. Your last advertising campaign was a bust. Before you spend money on another ad campaign, consider PR. News coverage is more believable than advertising. An invitation to participate in a news story provides a level of credibility. Advertising helps and, in my opinion, works best in tandem with PR.
3. You have lots of leads but not a lot of sales. The cause may not be your product or pricing. It may be your messaging. A PR expert can help you clarify your messages and your calls to action to convert more leads into clients.
Are you feeling ready to grow your business through PR? Here are two ways you can grow on any budget.
